The line between covers and original material has always been blurry for me. You see, when I perform, I pour my heart and soul into every note and lyric, regardless of who wrote it. To me, music is not just about recreating someone else’s work, it’s about taking inspiration from the greats and creating something entirely new.
I’ve been on this musical journey for quite some time now, and it’s taken me to unexpected places. I started out in the blues, drawing from its rich history to write my own songs and even winning the Israeli Blues Championship. But that was just the beginning.
After competing in the World Blues Championship and returning home from the US, I knew I needed to keep searching for my true musical voice. So I built a new team and wrote over 25 original songs, some of which we recorded for an album that was never officially released.
But even then, I felt like something was missing. So I disbanded the team and started fresh, no longer putting myself in a box or limiting myself to any specific genre or style. It’s been a challenging but incredibly rewarding journey of self-discovery.
And now, I’m excited to share my latest creations with the world. In the next few months, I’ll be releasing 2-3 singles that reflect my truest self and my artistic vision.
So, do I prefer covers or originals? Honestly, it’s not about preference for me. It’s about creating something that resonates with me and hopefully, with others too.
